Wendy the 99.6% Cumberland pig

Say hello to Wendy: she's 99% Cumberland—a formerly extinct breed—and has been on the telly and in the newspapers!

You can read more about Wendy in this article from the Cumberland News.

Our conservation work

We are currently working with English Nature to secure the future of the endangered common newt (Lissotriton vulgaris) and great crested newt (Triturus cristatus) in the UK.

We are currently putting together a working group of colleges and universities on the conservation of the axolotl (Ambystoma mexicanum), an endangered species of salamander native only to Lake Xochimilco and Lake Chalco in central Mexico.

We work with the Rare Breeds Survival Trust (www.rbst.org.uk) to ensure that no breed of fowl or pig becomes extinct.

I'm cute too!
